• Please see full res target chart scan as well as the scanner hardware data/info from FC: Note the total scans on this machine are less than 5500 passes, a ridiculously low number. This target charts was scanned and data pulled when this scanner is being listed
• This is a top of the line model, same sensor, light source and specs as the newer X1 model, albeit in the older style housing and with a 5% slower transfer rate
• The FIREWIRE port on this scanner IS NOT WORKING, however, it is still fully compatible with modern Windows PC computers and might also be used with some recent MAC devices (we do not know anything about MAC and cannot help you to set up a mac workstation)
• Ask us about getting a fully installed and ready to go PC tower computer work station for this scanner for an additional 200$, includes a SCSI card and ready to go right out of the box
• We STRONGLY recommend running this on a PC/Windows machine. You can use this scanner with any Windows OS: Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 10 and 11
• This scanner has NON FUNCTIONAL FIREWIRE PORTS, instead, it uses the native, onboard, SCSI II connection

SCSI Conditions:
• This Imacon 646 scanner can be used with SCSI ONLY, firewire ports are not working
• Using SCSI is the most stable and reliable way to work with Imacon's in our era due to the failing FW ports on all machines. It is also easy and simple to do with any modern PC computer. Any SCSI card can be used and the scanner can be supplied with your choice of HD50-DB25 or HD50-CN50/HD50 cables
• SCSI is only slightly slower than FW (25-30% reduction in file transfer speed), in this case, the max res scan making the largest possible fire this scanner can produce (close to 800MB) will take about 3 minutes, the full res 35mm vertical scan of the target chart (last photo) took about 60 seconds.
• This is a SCSI only scanner (because the firewire ports are not working), fully compatible with modern Windows PC computers and might also be used with some recent MAC devices, but you must be a MAC wizard/expert to make sure you can navigate the complex backwards compatibility issues. We STRONGLY recommend running this on a PC/Windows machine. You can use this scanner with any Windows OS from windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 10 and 11
• Due to the fact this is a SCSI only machine, this scanner is compatible ONLY with the last SCSI versions of the FlexColor software (4.0.3/4) which is free to download from Hasselblad's website (and other free online sources, we can provide the install file as well if needed)
• We are happy to help set up and install this scanner on any PC machine. Sorry, we cant help you with a MAC install. We are happy to provide a basic tutorial (via video chat) on using this scanner (45 minutes) at no cost after the machine has been installed at your location
