US Air Force high alt. balloon reconnaissance dual duplex aerial camera in crate #0569

$5,000.00

• Cosmetically, this camera shows no signs of use but it does look like someone tried to take it apart, some screws are missing, some wires are cut, perhaps this was done when being decommissioned by the government
• A true collectors item this 9" wide roll camera would likely not be usable without some highly specialized power supply and custom made parts
• 2 cool lenses from B&L with built in powered guillotine shutters
• This camera is clearly NOT working and is intended for display ONLY
• Case is marked as 20K783, perhaps the model or production number, the serial number is 5-511
• A quick google search shows that one of these is located at the air and space museum in VA and one other in the Smithsonian, with various details as to its origin in the failed top secret US Project Genetrix program to send spy balloons to collect covert information of the Soviet Union in the 50's, taking horizon to horizon dual panoramic images on 9" rolls of film from the two lenses, each covering about 90 degrees, resulting in a 180 angle of view
• This camera is BIG AND HEAVY, ships in a wooden crate where it is bolted down to isolating rubber pegs
• This hyper rare and historical camera would fit nicely into any collection or museum - make us an offer
